Disney Vacation Club has updated room categories at several Deluxe Disney resorts, reclassifying names to better align with non-DVC cash room descriptions. The goal is to streamline the reservation process by using clear names for various room types and their respective views. Standard View DVC rooms are now labeled Resort View, while Lake View rooms have been renamed Preferred View. It has been confirmed that the number of rooms in each category remains the same; only the names have changed! Here’s a resort-by-resort breakdown:
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas:
- Standard View → Resort View, with views of the resort grounds, pool, or parking area.
Disney’s Bay Lake Tower:
- Standard View → Resort View, with scenic resort or lake views.
- Lake View → Preferred View, highlighting beautiful views of Bay Lake.
Disney’s BoardWalk Villas:
- Standard View → Resort View, offering serene courtyard and garden views.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Villas:
- Standard View → Resort View, showcasing elegant courtyard and garden views.
- Lake View → Preferred View, offering stunning lagoon views.
Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows:
- Standard View → Resort View, showcasing lush tropical landscapes.
Disney’s Riviera Resort:
- Standard View → Resort View, with peaceful resort grounds views.
What Members Need To Know
Guests wanting lake views at Bay Lake Tower and Grand Floridian will now select “Preferred View” when booking their stay. For those wanting the lowest point category with views of the grounds or common areas, your selection will now be “Resort View” instead of Standard. And, there’s still the option for stunning “Theme Park” views at Polynesian, Grand Floridian, and Bay Lake Tower.
Members and Renters with existing reservations can rest assured they will still receive the exact same room type they originally reserved. The updated room type will automatically show under your reservation details. The room itself, including its views, features, and amenities, will remain unchanged.
These small changes bring consistency and clarity to the room categories, making planning your next magical DVC getaway easier than before.
