How it Works
How Renting Your DVC Points Works
Do you have extra points you’re not planning to use, or that might go to waste? You work hard for those points, so before letting them go unused, it’s worth exploring what they could do for you.
Many owners choose to rent out their unused points to:
- Offset annual dues
- Recoup some of their costs
- Or simply put those points to better use
Our team works with you to create a personalized strategy and connect you with the right renter. From start to finish, our goal is to make the process feel simple, seamless, and easy to navigate. We’re here to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible.
What To Expect
Renting your Disney Vacation Club points is more straightforward than most owners expect — especially when you have the right support in place.
Here’s how the process typically works:
Step 1: Share Your Point or Reservation Details
Start by letting us know what you have available.
This might be a set number of points, a confirmed reservation, or upcoming availability you’re considering renting. We’ll take a look at your situation and help you understand your options based on current demand.
Step 2: We Market to Active DVC Renters
Once you’re ready to move forward, we promote your points or reservation to our network of active renters.
We handle the communication, answer questions, and coordinate the details — all while working to match your availability with the right renter based on current demand and booking trends.
Step 3: Reservation is Secured
When a renter is confirmed, we coordinate everything with you and guide you through the next steps.
At this stage, you’ll make the reservation in the guest’s name using your DVC membership. We provide all of the necessary details and walk you through exactly what to do, so nothing feels uncertain or rushed.
Once the reservation is in place, we prepare a rental agreement outlining the guest details, payment structure, and terms, so everything is clearly documented before moving forward.
Payments are structured in two parts: 50% is paid once the reservation is secured, and the remaining 50% is paid after check-in. We’ll review the timing and details with you so you know exactly what to expect.
Step 4: Support Through Check-In
Our involvement doesn’t stop once the reservation is confirmed. We remain available to assist with communication as needed and help ensure everything stays on track leading up to check-in.
Our goal is to keep the process smooth and well-coordinated, so you don’t have to manage the details on your own.
How Long Will It Take to Rent My DVC Points?
The time it takes to rent your points can vary. Sometimes it happens quickly, while other times it may take longer depending on the situation.
A few factors that can influence timing include your resort, use year, number of points, and how far in advance the reservation can be booked.
In general, owners who plan ahead tend to see the most flexibility. Many longer stays are booked 10 to 12 months in advance, while shorter stays or last-minute bookings may rent closer to the travel date.
Listing your points earlier gives you more options — whether that means aiming for higher rates, filling a larger reservation, or simply having more control over timing.
