Membership Magic Beyond: New Perks, Added Costs for DVC Members

By Genesis Ford / October 17, 2024

Disney Vacation Club (DVC) has announced a new option for its members: Membership Magic Beyond, which will launch on December 3, 2024. This optional enhanced benefits package, available for $99 per year, aims to provide exclusive perks to DVC members looking to elevate their experience at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts.

For many members, this new package comes as a mixed bag. Let’s look at what’s included and what it might mean for DVC owners.

What’s Included in Membership Magic Beyond?

For $99 annually, qualifying DVC members will be able to enjoy the following benefits starting January 12, 2025:

Discounted Park Tickets

  • Walt Disney World: Specially priced 5-day weekday tickets, including one water park visit, are available for the member and up to seven family members in the same household.
  • Disneyland Resort: Specially priced 3-day weekday tickets, including the Lightning Lane Multi Pass.

30-Day Memory Maker

DVC members will receive a 30-day Memory Maker entitlement, valued at up to $210, to capture photos during their Walt Disney World visits.

Exclusive Lounge Access

Members enrolled in Membership Magic Beyond will gain priority access to DVC member lounges such as the ImaginAtrium at EPCOT and Star View Station in Disneyland. A third lounge is expected to open in 2025 at Magic Kingdom. Members will also have opportunities to meet and mingle with Disney characters at these lounges, a perk sure to delight families.

Additional Flexibility with Points

  • Purchase the Disney Sorcerer Pass for Walt Disney World using DVC points.
  • Get one bonus One-Time-Use Point for every One-Time-Use Point purchased (up to 24 points per use year).
  • The $95 transaction fee will be waived when booking Disney Collection Resorts, including Disney Cruise Line, Adventures by Disney, and National Geographic Expeditions.

Who Qualifies for Membership Magic Beyond?

Members must meet the Membership Extras eligibility criteria to participate in this new option, which requires ownership of at least 150 DVC points purchased directly from Disney. Some members who purchased under prior guidelines may still qualify.

Member Reactions: A Mixed Response

While additional perks are often welcomed, some DVC members are concerned about the added cost. Without clear ticket pricing details, some members are questioning whether the package offers enough value, particularly for those who visit less frequently. For larger families, the savings might justify the cost, but for others, it could feel unnecessary.
